Mickey Gall become a knowable face through his appearance in Dana White Looking For A Fight youtube show where UFC president Dana White is searching for the next superstar and the next face of the company. Mickey Gall did that by calling out former WWE champion and UFC fighter Phil Brooks, more known as CM Punk.

At UFC 203 after long wait he fought CM Punk and submitted him in the first round with complete domination but that was expected by many mma fans due to CM Punk's lack of experience in any area of mixed martial arts. Even though, that win gave him a massive boost in popularity and calling out Sage Northcutt in his post fight interview did help as well.

Mickey Gall is a man who is easily marketable, due to being young, undefeated, having a lot of charisma and great microphone skills. His next fight came at UFC on Fox 22 where he fought Sage Northcutt in an exciting match. In there we saw a little bit more of what Mickey Gall has to offer, we all know he is good in bjj but stand up skills were what interested the mma fans most and well they need some improvement of course. The upside is that he is very young and undoubtedly works hard on that. Regardless of that, he won his fight against Sage Northcutt via a second round rear-naked choke which is a move he used in all 4 of his wins.

After that fight came an exciting call out which was Dan Hardy, former title challenger who has been inactive for four and a half years but has been contemplating a return. Dan Hardy responded to this by saying he was not really interested in fighting him. So that leaves Mickey Gall and UFC in a limbo, who should he fight next, the fight obviously has to make sense for the further marketability of Mickey so not anyone can be chosen as his next opponent. Here's top 5 opponents Mickey Gall should fight in his next fight:

1. Yoshihiro Akiyama

On the upcoming fight card at Japan in September. That is an easily marketable fight due to Akiyama being extremely popular in Japan, it is a fight that could quite possibly be a main event for that evening. Mickey Gall would with a win beat a legend of the sport, past his prime but still a legend that would increase his stock even more and give him more recognition as a UFC fighter.

2. Mike Pyle

I know, another "old" fighter who is past his prime but like I said, looking from the standpoint of UFC, Mickey is still a very young fighter with very little fight experience so giving him a rising prospect with a high risk could be fatal for the brand of Gall. But still Mike Pyle is not a pushover, he might be 41 years old but he is still in exciting fighter whose fights almost always end in a finish, whether be his or his opponents. Fighting Mike Pyle would give Mickey some more experience in the octagon which is of utmost importance and would help him in his future bouts.

3. Alberto Mina

Now we step up a little bit, Alberto Mina is an undefeated 35 year old Brazillian who had 3 fights in he UFC with 2 finishes. His last fight came against Mike Pyle and ended in a brutal flying knee KO, that was almost a year ago and he has not fought since. Now name wise Alberto Mina is not really a big draw or a popular fighter but he is undefeated, with much more experience than Mickey so UFC could market Alberto Mina as his toughest opponent that will make him show what he's made of.

4. Roan Carneiro

Roan "Jucao" Carneiro is a master of jiu jitsu and would be a really tough opponent for Mickey Gall because he would be force to mostly use his striking and kicking against Roan since he definitely does not want to go with him on the ground. I think because of that reason it would be interesting to see how he would fare against an opponent like that and we would get to see if he has improved at all in his stand up skills.

5. Bryan Barberena

The prospect killer Bryan Barberena is an UFC fighter with a record of 13-4, he is best known for being the first man to defeat Sage Northcutt. After that fight he defeated another undefeated, rising prospect Warley Alves, thus the name prospect killer. He is a gritty, in your face, never give up fighter that is constantly looking to push you to your limits and give the fans an amazing fight. Perhaps he would be Mickey's toughest opponent out of these five but in this fight we would really see how good Mickey is and if he can step up a little bit in the competition.

Any of these fights would be fine by me, I would be interested in them all and hope maybe one of those would eventually be booked soon.
